The Biennale Architecture will be held from Saturday 20 May to Sunday 26 November, 2023 (pre-opening May 18 and 19), curated by academic, educator and best-selling novelist Lesley Lokko, who has commented: “Architects have a unique opportunity to put forward ambitious and creative ideas that help us imagine a more equitable and optimistic future in common”.
Lesley Lokko is the founder of the African Futures Institute, established in Accra, Ghana, in 2020 as a postgrad school of architecture and public events platform. In 2015 she founded the Graduate School of Architecture in Johannesburg. She has taught in the UK, in the US, Europe, Australia and Africa. She is the recipient of a number of awards for contributions to architectural education.
Early arrival at the city. Check-in at Hotel Monastery or similar.

10.30h-12.30h: Lecture: Climate & Sustainability for Venice in the future.
12.30h-13.30h: Lunch break (not included).
13.30h-15.00h: ECC Exhibition “Time, Space, Existence” with an expert guide.
15.00h-18.30h: Tour – Reading the city – a guided walk with a city expert
18.30 Free evening. Dinner on your own. Return to the hotel and first night in Venice.
After breakfast at the hotel, meet an ECA expert outside.
10.00h-11.00h: Guided walk: Entrances, Portals, Doors
11.00h-12.00h: Biennale with guide – curated exhibition – “The Laboratory of The Future”
12.00h-13.00h: Tour with ECA expert – Selected Pavilions related to climate, sustainability, water and healthy cities
13.00h-14.00h: Lunch break (not included).
14.00h-17.00h: Individual exploration of the Giardini Pavilions
18.00h-18.30h: Fondaco dei Tedeschi balcony visit
18.30h:Free evening. Dinner on your own. Return to the hotel and overnight stay in Venice.
